Profession/Position - IAS - Currently teaching, freelancing in areas of primary interest- crafts, education, culture after taking early retirement in 1999 from the IAS. Was Managing Director of Gurjari (Gujarat State Handicrafts) from 1979-81, ater became Additional Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, Govt of India. Helped set up " Vrindaban", an NGO, from '94-'99.The NGO works mainly with artisans to help them evolve their inherited skills to meet modern market demands.

"Was inspired by excellent teaching staff like Ms Diwan, Ms Chatterjee, Ms Sudha Joshi and Mrs Kemp. I always wanted to be a teacher, but fate changed my career-fortunately, have now gone back to what I like to do, that is teaching!"
